Top 8 Essential Oils

Essential oils have so many benefits and can be used in tons of different ways. These compounds are extracted from a specific plant and are distilled for further use as oils. Initially, the “essence” of the plant itself. Many oils are combined to create different aromas that can sooth, energize, calm, help breathe, help sleep, refresh, etc. I like to use essential oils to scent homemade lotion, face masks, hair masks, air purifiers, massaging, relieving, and healing. That being said, here are my top 8 and favorite starter pack essential oils list!

Lavender

Lavender essential oil is most typically used for de-stressing. It has a calming, mellowing effect when applied topically, or used through a diffuser and inhaled. Lavender promotes relaxation and aids in lessening anxiety as well. When considering essential oils, lavender is for sure a must have. It’s a natural mood booster and promotes health overall while detoxing the air as well.

Peppermint

Peppermint essential oil is most commonly used for topical use. It relieves headaches, pain throughout the body, and helps opening air passageways. Because of these, peppermint is commonly used to massage muscles and helps when experiencing colds and coughs. Not only this, it can also be used for oral use as well! If you make your own toothpaste, or have inflammation, peppermint oil may help if applied.

Lemon

Lemon essential oil has an amazing scent for a fresh clean house with its sharp smell and brisk feeling! Not only does lemon smell amazing when diffused, but it heals and is used as a powerful antioxidant. It boosts immune system and prevents bacterial infections. This essential oil can be used to scent homemade products, consumed for health uses, and applied topically or through the air. Refreshing, revitalizing, and energizing, lemon decreases fatigue, helps overcome flu symptoms, and can decrease blood pressure.

Not only this, Wild Orange treats acne, lifts moods, relieves the stomach, reduces pain, and can be used as a natural home cleaner as well. Wild orange is a natural immune booster, especially during cold season and the winter! If you’re looking to cleanse the body or detox, this essential oil is perfect to add into the mix. It’s very high in antioxidants and leaves a fresh feel.

Rosemary

Rosemary essential oil eases stress and increases circulation. This essential oil is very commonly used in shampoos and conditioners as well as hair growth treatments because of its hair growth stimulating properties.
